I’ve been cooped up for too long. Am I allowed to say that? It isn’t just the boys dying for spring and outdoor fun times… I’m chomping at the bit to go out and play with power tools and my garden.
Not at the same time, of course.
But since I can’t, I have to busy myself with indoor crafts. I know… I really had to have my arm twisted to do a craft. And this week, I’m obsessed with tassel keychains.
How cute are these? This definitely falls into the category of “stuff you can make with kids on your lap.” And the fact that it costs under .50 makes it even more fun.
Cheap crafts are fun, okay?
You need just a few things.
- embroidery thread
Yep. That’s it.
Cut two pieces of the embroidery thread off. Just small ones, okay? Tie one of the threads in a know around the middle of the entire skein. So easy.
Fold the skein in half. Use the last cut piece of thread to tie around the top as shown. Make sure to knot it.
Wrap the tails around the knot a few times, the knot it again.
Hold all the long pieces together and snip the bottom off.
And your tassel is done! Use the long top piece to tie it to your keychain and your good to go! Or use it to make bookmarks or necklaces or whatever. make a million.
So. What are you making this week? Are you ready for some outdoor project?
Until next time, Happy Wednesday!
